Liability Insurance
Risk factors and claim ratios for this industry are minimal. However, clients expect professional Personal Chef Service businesses to provide adequate insurance. A Personal Chef Service that is protected by liability insurance in the unlikely event of a loss, demonstrates to potential clients a dedication to professionalism.
The associations group business liability insurance program included in membership fees automatically covers USPCA members. Members can also elect to purchase an individual business liability insurance program as additional coverage.
Members generally use the free group business liability insurance as initial protection during the first few months of business and then add individual business liability insurance if needed, when revenues justify the extra expense. Many members find the coverage provided by the group business liability insurance program to be more than sufficient to provide protection for their business and can save the extra expense of an individual business liability insurance policy.
No other organization offers its members more insurance choices and coverage.

Separating Fact from Fiction . . .
The United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA) provides its membership with group business liability insurance included in their membership dues AND individual business liability insurance through an exclusive agreement with one of the largest insurance brokers in the west.
The United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA) is the only Personal Chef organization to provide group business liability insurance to its membership as a member benefit, at no additional cost to the member.
Three distinct elements are required to provide this desirable policy:
- The organization needs to demonstrate financial strength and stability
- The organization needs to have qualification and testing standards
- The organization is required to have a minimum of 1,000 members
The USPCA is the only Personal Chef organization able to meet these requirements. Any organization capable of extending such an important member benefit would do so in an instant. Other organizations do not provide group business liability insurance for their members because they can't.
The USPCA also offers its members access to a customized individual business liability insurance program with an average policy cost of $300 to $500 per year. This policy is a single owner business liability $1,000,000 per incident policy offered by an A+ rated insurance company.
Other Personal Chef organizations claim their individual business liability insurance program is better than the group business liability insurance program included free with USPCA membership. Comparing different types of insurance programs is like comparing apples and oranges. They make comparisons to avoid answering the real question - why don't they offer group business liability insurance to their members? The answer, as stated before, is that they cannot!
USPCA members are protected by their group business liability insurance program at no additional cost and can be covered by an individual business liability insurance program frequently with lower premiums and lower deductibles than the policies offered by other organizations. USPCA members have better insurance coverage and better insurance choices.
When deciding what organization to join, the insurance issue can be settled by simply asking which organization provides more coverage and more choices - the USPCA.
